Alam International raise over £1500 for Kingswinford Community project

Two curry evenings at the Alam in August 2011 helped raise more than £1500 for a football team based in Wall Heath. Joe Uddin and staff handed over a cheque for £1622 to the Kewford Eagles, which was raised from ticket sales for the events as well as raffles and an auction.
The club is currently working on a project which will see 11 football pitches built on land adjacent to Dudley Kingswinford Rugby club in Wall Heath.

Lynn Boleyn, club welfare officer, said: “We have more than 500 children playing for our club, including those with additional needs, as well as adult teams and we have been working extremely hard since obtaining planning permission in oder to raise the funding necessary for our project, which will be a facility for the whole community to enjoy.”

“We have already raised a substantial amount of around £500,000. We are extremely grateful to local people like Joe Uddin and Alan Emery at the Alam for their generosity in giving something back to the community.”
